Identifing user I.P. Addresses

Postby legacy2007 on Tue Nov 07, 2006 11:41 pm

I've had a recent problem with a unwanted user on my forum. I've erased her and she just creates a new account with a different email and username. The only other way I can permanately block her is with the I.P. address block feature. However the only way I've found to actually obtain a user's I.P. address is if he/she is logged in.

So I'm wondering if those I.P. addresses are stored somewhere Admins can access or if there's any other way of getting he address.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If this person posts on the forum, you can get the IP address the message was posted from. At the top-right of the post there are several buttons, depending on what privileges you have. Most users will just have a Quote button, but as admin you should have Quote, Edit, Delete & IP. Just click that IP button and there you go.

Hope this helps. :D
