Starting today, I have been having a problem with ads. I have a great pop up blocker, so they have not been a problem for me in the past, but other people on my forum have mentioned that they do get periodic pop ups on my site. That is not the problem. The issue is that now something is turing the text on my main index page into blue-colored links for advertisements and cookies. Every time I go to the main page one word is randomly made a link. This is very troublesome because I use word links for images in my text to save load time. Now my people have to try to determine what is an ad and what is from me. Is there a way to stop this? And are other people having this problem? I understand that since this is a free site, I must contend with ads, but this is getting a bit extreme. Please get back to me on this I would appreciate it.

| I haven't experienced that exact problem, but today one of my users reported some malicious popups that were trying to install annoying things to his computer. Really don't want my forum goers driven away by such things. |

This thread has now become an example of the problem it mentions. Though it doesn't show it in the
quote (I'd hoped it would), the word "pop" which I underlined was a link to some mess about real
estate deals. I didn't go there (that would just make the advertisers happy), but I did copy the URL.
[Edit: Removed the annoyingly long URL now that Support has kindly fixed the problem. Thanks!] _________________ My nephew wears combat boots.

The popups/pop-unders even affect users running Firefox on Linux.
I cannot speak for everyone else, but if they are not stopped soon, our forums will be looking for a new host.
Looking very much forward to a reply from staff.

The "pop-unders" are affecting IE browsers as well. It's becoming increasingly annoying.
I've also had to switch my forum to require registration before posting because of the number of automated spam posts. Even doing this and switch registration to include the image validation, spammers are able to register automatically.
With these "pop-unders" of late I can only assume the hosting staff are aware of this behavior as well.
Any comment from the staff here?

done
i have removed some of the advertising code from all forums.
the problem was that the advertising company told us that it will be only banners and not popups or other type of advertising. it seems that they not told us the truth. well.. we keep going.
i hate the popups as much as you do. _________________ Setup your FREE FORUM now !

My profound thanks.
My friends and I are very pleased that we do not have to find another host.
