hello,
is there anyone who can update my forums? like a security update or something? there seems to be a lot of bots who are registering on to my forums to advertise their stuff. it would be nice for bots not to be able to get in. is there a solution besides deleting their membership? thanks to anyone who helps.

In the sidebar of your admin index, click "Configuration". Look for these two things:

Code:
Enable account activation     None   User   Admin

Enable Visual Confirmation    Yes   No
Requires users enter a code defined by an image when registering.


To prevent bots joining up, make sure the second one is "Yes". If you want to approve all new members, set the account activation to "Admin".

I had been having the same problem, but since I enabled visual confirmation I haven't had any more bots.
