I want to make someone a moderator on my forum but when i go to user admin then click on permissions and when i click on "is moderator" i get this error message

General Error
Couldn't update private forum permissions

Initially i didn't get this message and i was able to make this person a moderator, then i clicked on user level and this person is now an administrator which is ok in the short term but i want to have complete control of the admin functions, is there any way i can just make this person a moderator without getting an error message like this?

Surely there must be a solution to fix this problem, any advice would be appreciated.

This problem is a little complicated , but I hope I will find a solution in few days.
Anyway I was telling you to test all after that problem, because I have mixed two version of two databases to minimise your loss. and....with a risk of problems
I have looked on admin and I saw that the problem it is real, but only for members registered from when that backup was made and restored to you and until I have done all modifications (after your forum was hacked), the users before and after are not afected (I have tested now) (you have registered in working restore period and you are affected ), One solution is to delete user and register again and it will work , but is not very good. I will look in few days on a solution to see how I can solve this without any problems !

Yes I was . The thing now is more complicated than was before, that's why I told you to test all when I made last modifications. Anyway I have found a posible solution, but I will try to find another to see where exacly is the problem to fix-it. The database of one forum is very complicated and need study to see where is the problem.
Anyway, in one week or less (I have clases that I need to go in next days so....little busy) I will try to solve this. I will make a test forum to see when, where, how, etc etc and try to solve the problem.
