Hi there here are a few suggestion me and my forum users came up with that would be good to see. Many are ideas from forumwise as our old forum used to be with them, But they were not as versitile as free forums so we changed. Here are some ideas that would be nice to see, I have filtered the stupid one out for you.
1) Khama rating - Like on forumwise , users can add or minus points for good or bad behavior, time limits can be set by admins saying how many mins people must wait before issuing more khama points again, moderators can have this restriction removed if the admin wants it and the admins have no restrictions. Would be nice to see the khama ratings on the members list so you can see who has the most.
2) Default Avatars- Like forumwise again a gallery of default avatars users can choose rather than uploading there own
3) News box and time ticker - A News box for admins to place news and info in on the front page also a time ticker where you can choose max 5-10 time zones the top one being the forums time zone so users can see what time it is in there time zone if it falls into the 5-10 time zones set by the admin
4) Database tracking- Its a pain for me to try and find who deleted a post ect how about a tracking database that can show admins who deleted posts and even provide link to posts users made, would be good to see forum list as a whole and a serch per user and per forum. Deleted posts can go into a recycle bin for an admin to see that post which automaticly perminantly deletes after 14 days or the admin deletes it.
5) Advanced registration - A text field where users have to enter the numbers and letters from a picture to stop bots signing up, also custom sign up info needed so if you only want e-mail username and password on sign up you can choose them options for users to input. Also sub terms and conditions set by the forum admin would be good BUT the free forums t+c would over ride any contadiciting t+c
6- Pre warning via e-mail 7 days in advance when free forums is updating so we can advise our users of it on the board. I get alot of e-mails and in game people saying " the forum isnt working" which gets annoying
7) Ban lengths- So you can ban people for set time periods from 1 week to a year to perminently, after the ban runs out then it automaticly removes the ban. When banned an automated e-mail is sent out to advise of the ban and one is sent when it is removed
Backup and restore - from and to pc
9) Forums only administrators can see ( like the mods forums)
I know alot of theese are probably major changes so were not requesting them straight away, However they are meerly suggestions that we would like to see and somthing for free forums to consider mabey for the next major update. |
